Turns out that Labor Day is a good day to labor.
We started out working hard all morning in the garden picking green beans. Later in the afternoon Asher and Rose had a green bean and lemonade stand in our front yard. They made $12!
Later that evening we had several families over for a campfire in our backyard. They all went home at 8 PM and I laid down on my bed at 8:30, totally and completely exhausted. At 9 PM I realized the contractions I had been feeling on and off all day were getting a lot stronger. By 11:30 PM the midwife was at our house and by 12:17 AM that morning this beautiful little girl had made her entrance into the world.
Tabitha after the woman in Acts 9 (read her story here). We hope that like the woman she is named after she will be a woman full of good works.
Lily after my Great grandmother, and in keeping with our (unintentional) flower names for girls,
and Farrell from her father.
We are all so in love with this little girl.
She has a curious and sweet spirit and has just filled our house with joy.
I can’t get over the miracle of it all; that somehow my body created this beautiful little girl and had the power to bring her into the world. It still takes my breath away this time as much as it did the first time.
I just feel so incredibly lucky to have this little woman as my daughter.
And I don’t think Labor Day will ever mean quite the same thing for me after this.
Nice work, Heather!
Congratulations! She is beautiful!
Beautiful! Enjoy these baby days because they fly by faster with each one. Samuel is already closing in on 2 months old. Crazy.

congrats heather! i was wondering when your little one was going to be born. So, i'm assuming you did it natural. I may need to do it that way because of low platelets. Will you share your tips or email them to me? melissaksunday at gmail dot com. Thanks!
